Biography:

    Kristin Barone, Pianist, received her Bachelorbreceived her bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance from Adelphi University in Spring 2006 under the tutelage of Adrienne Borbely. She graduated cum laude and was the 2006 recipient of James Gould award for Excellence in Music. At Adelphi, Ms. Barone was a featured accompanist with specialties in Chamber Music, Graduation Recitals, Choral work, as well as the Opera Workshop. During the Spring of 2005, Ms. Barone took part in master classes and performances organized by Kalin Ivanov, Cellist and Tamara Puddabnaya, Pianist in Plovdiv, Bulgaria. From 2006 through 2008, Ms. Barone studied cello and was a member of the Adelphi Orchestra. In December 2005, Ms. Barone was featured as a soloist at the famous Weil Recital Hall of Carnegie Hall in December 2005.

    In 2008, Ms. Barone completed her Masters Degree (2008) at The Aaron Copland School of Music under the tutelage of Morey Ritt. Continuing her studies, she completed the newly inaugurated Artist Diploma program (2009) at ACSM, Queens College CUNY. The Artists Diploma was specifically devoted to studying Four Hand repertoire on one piano as well as two pianos.

    In 2006, during her time at Queens college, the Barone-Finarovsky Duo was formed. Ms. Barone and Mr. Finarovsky performed together extensively in the United States and Hong Kong featuring works for four hands and two pianos.

    In addition to performances with the Barone-Finarovsky Duo, Ms Barone also performed internationally as both a soloist and chamber musician, giving performances in Sarola,Italy; Lucca, Italy and Hong Kong.

    Some recent highlights of Ms. Barone's career include performances of Frank's Symphonic Variations as an alumna at Adelphi, Rachmaninoff's Suite No. 2 for Two Pianos, and the Bartok Sonata for Two Pianos and Percussion.

    In addition to her performance career, Ms. Barone also has served as a substitute organist, Music Director at various churches in the tri-state area. In June of 2010, Ms. Barone became the Director of Music at Rutherford Congregational Church. Currently, she is studying organ with David Enlow (faculty member of the Juilliard School) and Peggo Hsiao (organist at First Presbyterian Church, Rutherford, NJ). She has also studied organ under David Smith at Christ First Presbyterian Church.

    Over the years, Kristin has also worked with world renowned Flutist Linda Wetherill in concert as well serving as an accompanist for Ms. Wetherill's flute students during various master classes. She has had the honor of performing annual world premieres of new music written by laureates of the Counterpoint Italy composition competition.
